GeoTweets
Most tweets have some sort of geolocation tag on them, do they not? I think it'd be pretty sick to be able to view a tweet's location in either a google-map or other map interface by clicking on the tweet (it could have a globe icon or something). In addition, clicking on a globe on a user's profile would throw up a map in google earth with all of their tweets visualized in their geographic locations.
Similarly, I think a mode in Spaz somewhat like WHERE's The Pulse could be very cool. Have a google map that shows tweets by their location (around your location to start) as they show up in realtime. This is a really cool functionality that I find fascinating.
Thanks!

Most do not, actually -- most users do not geotags their messages. I think recent info I saw suggested well under 10% of users do so. That's the main reason I haven't pursued this. If someone is motivated, they can certainly look into it though.

Ah, okay. I was under the impression that it was far more common than 10%.
I have to admit, I'm mostly interested in geotweets as I am a GIS/Remote Sensing person (who just discovered Twitter about a week ago :P) so I like seeing the convergence of the social media and real-time mapping.
However, it would likely be a lot of work for a feature that at this point, as you've noted, is very under utilized.
Thanks for the clarification! Here's to hoping it gets more traction eventually.
